About OnDeviceFiles

OnDeviceFiles is a collection of free file tools built on one simple principle: a privacy tool should not require you to trust it.

Why local processing matters

Most online file tools work by asking you to upload your files to their servers, where the processing happens before the result is sent back. That means your contracts, receipts, photos and personal documents pass through someone else's computer.

OnDeviceFiles takes the opposite approach. Using WebAssembly, all processing happens inside your browser tab, on your own hardware. Your files never leave your device — which is why:

• It works even when you are offline;
• There are no file size caps, queues or daily limits;
• There are no watermarks and no accounts.

What you get today

Ten tools across images and PDFs: lossless PNG optimization (OxiPNG), JPG compression, JPEG XL conversion both ways, AVIF and HEIC decoding, WebP conversion, plus PDF merging, splitting and image-to-PDF assembly. More are added regularly.

How it is funded

The site costs almost nothing to run because your device does the computing. Optional anonymous analytics help understand which tools matter. If sustainable monetization is ever added (such as unobtrusive ads), it will be disclosed on this page — never at the cost of the local-processing guarantee.
